Backlinks Monitoring is an integrated service inside the Posticy Marketplace that helps Marketers track and protect the backlinks generated through the platform. Once a Publisher delivers the published article correctly through Posticy, your backlink is added to monitoring automatically and tracked continuously.

How Backlinks Monitoring works

Backlinks Monitoring is automated, but it depends on one critical requirement:

Automatic tracking requirement

Backlinks are added to the monitoring system only after the Publisher delivers the published article URL through the Posticy platform.

If the Publisher does not deliver via the official delivery step, the system cannot add the URL to tracking. For example, tracking will not be enabled when:

  • The Publisher sends the URL only as a simple message or chat note
  • The URL is shared outside of the Posticy delivery flow
To benefit from Backlinks Monitoring, always ask your Publisher to deliver the published article URL using the platform delivery step.

What is monitored

Once a published URL is delivered correctly and added to monitoring, the system checks it around the clock and keeps you updated on:

Google index status

Track whether the article containing your backlink is indexed by Google and monitor its status over time. This helps you confirm the page is appearing in search results and not being excluded or deindexed.

Landing pages and anchors

Your landing pages are monitored for 404 issues to help you avoid losing link equity. Continuous checks warn you before these errors affect performance.

Backlink status changes

Links are monitored continuously so you can be alerted about important changes, such as:

  • Backlink removal
  • URL edits on the published article
  • Nofollow or attribute changes
  • Content modifications that affect the backlink

Email notifications and reports

Receive detailed link reports by email, including updates on indexing, and any detected changes that may require action. This helps you stay informed without manually checking each placement.

Quick Status Guide

  • 403 - Page access is restricted
  • 404 - Page no longer exists
  • 500 - Website server error
  • WA - Anchor text has changed
  • WR - Link relationship has changed (nofollow/sponsored/etc.)
  • WLP - Link points to a different landing page

Why monitoring backlinks matters

Your link profile can change at any moment, and every shift can influence rankings. Monitoring helps you stay ahead of issues, protect SEO value, and understand how each link contributes to authority, visibility, and long term growth.

Most importantly, it protects your investment by alerting you quickly if a Publisher edits, removes, or alters a paid article or backlink.

Key takeaway for Marketers

To use Backlinks Monitoring effectively, always ensure the Publisher delivers the published article URL through the Posticy delivery step. If the URL is only shared in messages and not delivered properly in the platform, tracking will not be activated automatically.
